Anyone remember the old Cup O Noobles - Won Ton?
Cup O Noodles, or whatever popular brand it was used to make cup o noodle style won ton soups where instead of ramen noodles they had won tons instead (that weren't really filled with anything).
They were my childhood favorite and I loved these damn things, especially the chicken and hot and sour flavors, but in recent years they have disappeared from all the common stores that I frequent, I was hoping someone here would be able to help me out...
Anyone know where I can buy these? I'd prefer going to the actual store rather than buying online because I want them NOW,
Any help is very much appreciated.
On a semi-related note, and although they have the same name they are NOTHING alike, not even in the same category, but the fremont Chinese restaurant "China Chili" has the best Wor Won Tan soup in the friggin world. I love won ton soup and have tried it in every single chinese restaurant that offers it from the south bay to the north bay (including china town in SF) but no one beats China Chili in terms of overall taste, overall quality, and overall consistency. They use the best ingredients and their soup tastes the best, BY FAR. It's only $7 for a big serving that feeds at least two, and can fill a single person up to CAPACITY (it's about 32-36oz in all I'd say). You really can't beat it. They also have EPIC hot and sour soup, which like the won ton soup, is unmatched completely. No one can even come close to their won ton or hot and sour soup, both are bargains as well. If you're in the Fremont area, give it a shot! They make pretty good Chinese food too, but their soup is the best (Their chow mein is really epic as well)

It's a common mistake, but it actually isn't "Cup O Noodles" anymore. It is actually just "Cup Noodles" and has been like that apparently since 1993.

Gawd, I hated those things as a kid. I always felt so gypped because there was zero filling in 'em.
If you really want it, just buy some instant hot & soup and throw a pack of won ton skins in it until they go completely limp and soggy.

i used to make a fat pot with like three of those won ton things... that with some chinese cabbage OMG HERRA BOMB O WHAA!

Yeah, either you love them or you hate them... I used to eat them way back in the day when I was super poor and couldn't afford to pay attention. Like dorifto, I used to make two of them and pour them into a single larger bowl, and if I had anything good that would go with it, I'd throw that in or I'd eat it on the side with the Won Ton soups. I'd also add a little dab of soy sauce (the light salt version) and possibly a little bit of hot sauce of some sort, sometimes even tabasco sauce.
But yeah, my friends would look at me like I was nuts when I ate those things... They hated them, which I never understood because they were so damn good. You can't expect them to taste like real won ton soup, and if you go in without expectations they are great! I had never tried real won ton soup prior to having the fake cup noodle version, so I loved them... It's just so convenient, easy to eat, and tastes good too. Not the best thing for you because it's like pure salt, but I just drink extra water to make up for the loss.
