NO. even uverse (factional fiber) sucks. loads of packet loss, crappy support, the TV is the only service from ATT i can recommend.
Currently at home im using comcast for internet/phone and ATT for tv (speed HD).

yea just like everybody said. I use to have att dsl, compared to comcast, they are in the range of suck. even more so when you see the price on the service
I believe att's "elite" is $35 a month, and its 6MBps? with snail speeds on the upload. i think i was getting like 60kb/sec upload max.
comcast i pay $19 a month and I can download ~1.5MB/sec! and my upload speed is as fast as att elite DOWNLOAD speed.. which is like 300Kb/sec
I believe Uverse can provide speeds matching that of what most comcast owners have, but definitely no where close to the same cost.
Only downside with comcast is the download cap, I was afraid of that, but after almost a year, I had never had a problem of going over and I use a good amount of bandwith.

1) ATT can mean different things. They do DSL and cable (U-verse)
2) Fast can mean different things. Latency is not throughput. Disconnects suck. Etc...
My experience with Comcast is that they are:
- throughput: fast
- latency: meh
- reliability (disconnects, etc...): not very good.
IMO the latter two are far more important than overall throughput unless all you do is download torrents and ****. Wait, this is i-club, so most people here that is what they do, so... uhhh, Comcast might be good for you.
I had 768 kbps DSL for YEARS before switching to Comcast and I found I had a LOT more frustration switching to Comcast and watching the DSL modem lights flash waiting for it to re-train after a disconnect than I ever did waiting for my "slow" 768kbps downloads vs. my current "fast" 3 or 6Mbps or whatever package I'm on downloads.
Note: My DSL was not directly through AT&T, it was through Speakeasy using AT&T lines.
