3M Paint Defender
I was just looking through my July issue of C&D and came across an ad for a new product from 3M called Paint Defender Spray Film. Has anyone here seen, tried or heard anything about it?
It looks fairly simple and easy.

Where did u install 3M ScotchGuard/VentureShield/"Brand-x" paint protection? - NASIOC
3M Spray-in clear bra - NASIOC
Much of the topic has been covered there. Take a look and I am sure it will answer several of the questions you may have. Also there are demonstration videos from 3M if you have not come across those yet. I particularly like the video with the induced rock chip machine, it shows how resilient the material is to small pebbles and debris.

Straight to the point answer: It can be an easier and cheaper alternative to solid clear bra protection. It is easy to apply yourself at home and you will not have to deal with film adhering to complex contours and curves. BUT it will not be as strong or damage resilient as clear bra film because you can choose different thicknesses with film. Film will of course be more expensive in materials and labor to have installed. The spray still gives comfort at home protection for those areas you choose to have protected. But it will no way help deflect rock chips from pitting or breaking head lights. It is also very easy to remove and redo.
